One idea from that thread was a cup with shock mount on the back of it.

Good find,

one thing puzzles me, why don't those with hydraulics have safer, more reliable, and better performance system?

On your shock idea, if you could remove and then replace the shock fluid when needed, seems to be workable.

This idea is great. But that picture is puzzleing.
So, its not a coilunder, cause theres no coil at the end of the ram. Its not a coilover cause if it was there would be a cup over the collar with a spring on it.
Is this set up runnin accumulators and no spring? But still, the collar should be layin against the frame shouldnt it? Or is the shock supportin the weight? Something isnt right.

Great idea thou, really. If only most lowriders cared about having a good ride it could even be useful LOL

followed the link, apparently Edmunds noticed it too.
I wonder if the coil was removed for show or if the cilinder has a mountin point above...
