Marzocchi and Rockford Gears

I'm not too sure what kind of gear this is because it is not marked but it came from hi-lo a few years ago...

:huh: Here is one thing I don't like about these gears.... you notice instead of needle/roller bearings on the gear shafts these types of gears use friction bearings and thet have self lubricating oil pathways

the funny thing was there are no part numbers on that pump at all...

A Marzocchi is a PRESSURE BALANCED pump. A pressure balanced pump uses the the forces it creates to seal the gears tightly inside the chamber. Performance is extremely good until the walls in the gear chamber have been worn down. That is why the center chamber is made from soft aluminum.

They are Rockford gears, I have 2 of them. The lack of roller berings dont seem to affect them much they inside gear surface wears out before the friction bearing
