Say you want to ride soft, yet when the time comes you want to hop or pop up fast. With this system, use: 1) One two way or one three way valve 2) One three way valve. Both NC (normally closed). 3) Two check valves. 4) One or two slow downs. 5) Accumulator. 6) Two additional hoses 7) Two additional "T's" and assorted fittings. The key to making this work is to hooking up the 3-way valve to the accumulator in a different configuration. You want to plumb the valve to flow at all times (like it was a NO or normally open valve). It's when you apply the volts to the 3-way valve that you want to fluid blocked off to the accumulator. You then now want free flow back to the cylinders. The accumulator isn't supplying the 'stream' with anything, its there to provide a soft ride. When the three way way it switched, the flow re-circulates back into the supply flow, but the accumulator is isolated from the circuit, therefore is made redundant and performs no function. There are the two-way valves made to look like a three-way, then there are the real three-ways. let's see, inlet to brake= free flow. then activate the dump so fluid in brake system travels out return, at the same time inlet is closed. -or- If brake is free flow to inlet, then inlet is closed when brake is returned. so 3-way valve is connected to hydraulic system, brake side is free flowing to inlet, inlet is attached to accumulator. When dumping, accumulator is closed off from system. The only possible problem I could think of is, would the N.O. solenoid close fast enough? |
