Title: hydraulic cylinders Post by: 1984monte_notSS on July 02, 2005, 11:18:06 AM please guys, i´ve been searching for info about hydraulic pistons or cylinders, i have a pair of cylinders from a cab over truck, those ones that lift the cab, the measures:
the rod is 3/4 in. the cylinder case exterior is 1 1/2 in do you think these ones will work for easy upside down and regular driving, not intended for hopping, anyway they are two ported i´ll figure it out how to cancel one of them, all i want to know if they are able to work in a lowrider Title: hydraulic cylinders Post by: Hydros on July 03, 2005, 12:17:00 PM It looks like they should work. I just need to go out and measure some cylinders OD and see for sure.
These type of cylinders are double acting, or push-pull. The port that pushes the cylinder rod out provides the most working force, the other port that causes the rod to move inward doesn't produce as much working force with the same amount of pump pressure. What we did was just leave that one port open. But doing that can cause dirt and dust to enter and ct as sandpaper. I don't think you should block that port off.
