Title: SEMA Action Network
Post by: misterouija on May 03, 2005, 08:54:41 PM
Tony / Richard,

The below link is about a part of SEMA called the SEMA Action network. It's a group of hobbyists like us all that are into customizing all types of cars. This network keeps everyone informed of current local and federal bills that affect us as car hobbyists... It shows you what you can do to become more involed and how to contact and lobby your local reps...

I just wanted to share a link with you guys for the SEMA Action Network....

SEMA SAN (http://www.semasan.com)

I encourage you guys to join, to get involed in politics... it's free... no junk mail...

I checked this out. I have seen this site before.

To those of you reading this. It is important that we do get involved in the laws that can in some way control what we have or take away what we have.

Yes I know, some people think it's usless to vote, but man, that's because you're young and you think young. But look, get involved, be a part of the big picture.

I've lived it, I've been there, done that and had tons of fun.  But that was then, and then there were no law to stop us.

In the early days, you could smoke weed in Michigan, carry Nunchucks, buy assault weapons in California, all kinds of crap that's illegal today. Then the laws were passed to stop all that, the same thing can happen to what we do with our rides.

For example right now in my home state they are trying to pass a bill that will ban the sale and installation of aftermarket exhausts... Because of SEMA SAN our Club and I found out about that bill and we are lobbying our local reps...

it only takes a few minutes of your time and it's worth it.

The law specifies that 7,500 applications must be reached by January 1, 2015. If 7,500 applications are not received by that date, any fees paid for the California Legacy plates will be refunded to the applicant.

To find and then use an original set of plates:
