Title: CAR WONT DUMP
Post by: VOLV_LO on March 18, 2004, 08:39:27 AM
Do you have your dumps hooked up at 24 volts???

although a dump can work at 12 volts it is at its peak performance at 24 volts.

Is the dump grounded properly??

Is the dump PRESSURE LOCKED? meaning you have extended your cylinder so far and now the spring is compressing, holding a pressure against the dump which is stopping the dump from activating or BINDING THE DUMPS components.

Are your switches hooked up properly??

Is your slow down valve closed??

All good possible instances for this problem..

First thing to do is short out the dump to see if that works, take the power wire and tap it against the 24volt post in your battery bank..  WATCH YOUR HEAD IF YOUR LEANING INTO THE TRUNK, IT REALLY HURTS WHEN THE TRUNK LID SMOKES YOU IN THE HEAD!!!!

This will be deleted later:

Richard, good post, I had forgot all about the dump PRESSURE LOCK. Such a pain.

The Waterman dumps were about useless, at least they had the buttom to relieve the pressure. Most times valves will lock because of the higher pressures when hopping.
I have seen some valves lock when riding topping off and hitting a bump.
Next, which valves do not lock...  CONT....[/size]
